Description

Saccobolus er en liten sopp som finnes på dyremøkk. Sporene er samlet i sekker, noe som gir den et karakteristisk utseende. Disse soppene har en unik spredningsmekanisme for sporene, der sporesekkene åpner seg kraftig og skyter ut sporene opptil 30 cm (11,8 tommer) unna. Noen arter i denne gruppen kan vokse og produsere fruktlegemer på så lite som 24 timer.
