Description

Platismatia er en lav kjent for sitt flakete, ofte flikete utseende, som gjør at den ser noe lurvete eller revet ut i kantene. Funnet hovedsakelig i tempererte skoger, trives platismatia på trestammer og steinoverflater. Den bidrar til økosystemet ved å bryte ned stein til jord og gi leveområder for små virvelløse dyr. Noen arter innenfor platismatia er svært følsomme for luftforurensning, noe som gjør dem nyttige som indikatorer på miljøhelse.
