Description

Ophiocordyceps er en parasittisk gruppe av sopp kjent for å infisere insekter og leddyr. De tar kontroll over vertens atferd, ofte ved å få dem til å klatre til høyere posisjoner før de dør. Soppen vokser deretter fra vertens kropp og produserer struktur for sporefrigivelse. Noen arter i denne gruppen har blitt studert for potensielle medisinske egenskaper.
