Description

Hyperphyscia er en type lav. Den finnes hovedsakelig i varme, tropiske områder, og vokser ofte på trestammer og steiner. Et bemerkelsesverdig trekk ved hyperphyscia er dens lyse til mørke grå farge med en noe skinnende overflate. Denne gruppen lav inngår i et symbiotisk forhold mellom sopp og alger eller cyanobakterier, som gjør det mulig for dem å produsere sin egen mat gjennom fotosyntese og å trives i varierte miljøer.
