Description

Cryptothecia er en gruppe skorpelav kjent for sitt unike utseende. De danner tynne, malinglignende skorper på trestammer, steiner og blader i tropiske og subtropiske områder. Disse lavene har ofte en pulveraktig eller granulær tekstur og kan vise ulike farger, inkludert hvit, grå og rosa. Noen arter i denne gruppen er i stand til å produsere levende pigmenter som skiller seg ut mot underlaget.
