Description

Crucibulum er fascinerende fordi de små fruktlegemene ligner på miniatyrfuglereder komplett med små 'egg.' Disse 'eggene' er faktisk sporeholdige strukturer kalt peridioler, som spres av regndråper. Når regndråper treffer 'redet,' fører kraften til at peridiolene slynges ut i miljøet, noe som hjelper til med spredningen av sporer. Denne unike mekanismen er et bemerkelsesverdig trekk ved crucibulum, som representerer en utrolig tilpasning blant sopp.
