How to identify it?
Cap
Cap 2-10 cm across, convex, later flattens, sometimes becomes saucer-shaped when mature; bright blood-red, or rose coloured at first, fading slightly with age, and often having paler areas; surface smooth. Flesh soft, brittle, white. Taste somewhat hot and peppery, and sometimes bitter on the tongue.
Gills
Gills adnexed to shortly decurrent, creamy to yellowish or yellow, close.
