Fruiting body medium sized to large; ball-shaped to top-shaped.
Flesh
The flesh is filled with yellowish to brownish pea-sized gleba. Odour and taste not distinctive.
Habit & Habitat
The species is an ectomycorrhizal fungus; it grows singly or in small groups and clusters; and it prefers gravel and sandy or impoverished soils. Spore print brown.
