Cap 2.5-12 cm across, semicircular; zoned in bands of bright yellowish, rusty, or reddish brown, becoming duller and darker with age; surface velvety to hairy. Flesh corky, dark rusty brown or dark yellow-brown. Odour and taste not distinctive.
Gills
Gills irregular and often fusing, yellow-brown to darker brown, fairly close.
