Description

Meottomyces er en mindre kendt gruppe af svampe, som ofte findes i skovhabitater. Disse svampe vokser typisk i løvlag under løvtræer og buske. Selvom de tilsyneladende er sjældne, bidrager deres tilstedeværelse til nedbrydningsprocessen og næringsstofkredsløbet i deres økosystemer. Frugtlegemerne af meottomyces er generelt små til mellemstore, med træk der gør dem til et interessant emne for mykologer og naturentusiaster.
