Grayflesh tylopilus is a bolete mushroom that prefers sandy soils. It can be found on the ground near oak and pine trees. When bruised, the cap and pores stain orange-gray, while in older specimens, these stains can be almost black. Native to North America, this mushroom is relatively new to science.
