The tiny fruitbody of the black-stalked Marasmius (Tetrapyrgos nigripes) looks almost as if the cap and stem were cut and pasted from different mushrooms. This odd combination creates a memorable overall appearance. They are so small that they are rarely larger than the size of a bottle cap. They enjoy growing out of small items, such as twigs and leaves.
