The tiny mushroom caps of the eyelash cup (Scutellinia scutellata) are lined with dark little hair-like protrusions that resemble eyelashes. This fungal species is found throughout the world on long-dead and well-rotted vegetation, although its fruitbodies are so tiny they are easy to overlook.
