Description
Wolf's milk slime mold is one of the most recognized slime molds, for good reason. The bright pink paste exuded from its young flesh is eye-catching. This paste is similar to the sap of the invasive plant Wolf's Milk, which is the source of its name. This slime mold is also recognizable when older, as it expells puffs of gray spores like puffball mushrooms.

The wolf's milk slime mold can be found in woods and wooded areas. It's a saprobic species that feeds on decaying organic matter such as deadwood. This fungus prefers well-rotted wood.
