Description
The grey veiled Amanita has excellent camouflage skills - it is easily overlooked because it blends very well with the conifer litter on the forest floor. The large, abruptly bulbous base of the stem and its purple-grayish color are the most prominent characteristics of this Amanita. It occurs in forests in late summer and early fall.
