Cap

Cap 2-12 cm across, semicircular to kidney-shaped; red-orange, its brightness fades as it matures; surface finely hairy to suede-like, becoming roughened or nearly smooth. Flesh tough, reddish to pale orange. Odour and taste not distinctive.
